Course Description

Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course the students should demonstrate knowledge and ability to the following:
- Understand basics of computer network communications
- Understand and identify network devices and their role/functions within a given network.
- Identify the different types of network topologies and protocols.
- Explain the layers of the OSI model and TCP/IP. Explicitly explain the functions for each layer.
- Understand and building the skills of sub-netting.
- Be able to administer a network regardless its size.
- Familiarity with the basic protocols of computer networks, and the way they can be used to assist in network design and implementation.
